Training Classes
Overview
I have been working with dog owners in the San Antonio area and throughout Texas for over 35 years. My approach to dog obedience training is simple… Positive Reinforcement!! Training should be fun for you and your pet, and you don’t need to have training treats on your hip 24/7 to have a well-behaved and well-mannered dog. Whether you want to participate in a group class for the socialization or you need a little more one-on-one attention, I have a class that will fit your needs.
I work with owners on many common behavior issues including:

Class Options
Group Class
Group classes are offered at specific times throughout the year. Class sizes are kept small, with usually less than 10 students per class. The classes meet for approximately 1 hour per class, 1 night per week for a period of 5 weeks. The group setting allows the owner and pet to be taught basic obedience commands during class time, with homework assignments provided to reinforce those training principles presented in class. Pets are required to be current on all vaccinations.

Private Training
Lessons are provided in a one on one setting. Sessions run for approximately one hour and are customized to your individual needs. We can cover basic obedience commands or target specific behavior issues. This option allows for a very flexible training schedule.

Home Training
The trainer travels to your residence to provide training. Sessions are approximately one and half hours long. The trainer works one-on-one with the owner and the pet, providing instruction that covers basic commands along with specialized behavior modifications. This is ideal for those that have either a very demanding schedule, like the privacy of their home, have problems with their pet traveling or problems specifically in the home. Scheduling is very flexible.

Drop-off Training
Sometimes referred to as Board and Train, this has become a very popular approach for those whose life style does not allow for them to train their own dog. The pet is left with the trainer for a two-week period, and training is provided in an environment similar to “home”. This allows the trainer to duplicate the conditions in which the dog lives, and allows the trainer to work on basic commands as well as manners. During this time, the dog is treated as one of the family pets. At the end of the two-week period, there is a training session for the owner. This session helps the owner understand how to interact with their pet to achieve desired behaviors.
